He then proceeded to walk down the hall appearing unbothered by her statements. She then stated to him that he shouldn't be leaving customers to which whom he is working with unattended and needed to grab another employee to assist with background check completion if he needed to do so. She proceeded to look down then hall and sees Jeff taking a break. She then proceeded to ask whom I was working with, I stated "Jeff". She assisted me as much as possible, considering there were 3 others she had been assisting. He left me there un-attended, having to ask a young lady for assistance. He then proceeded to take me to the rear of the store to do the background check. The entire time Jeff had an attitude by way of his body language, stance, and facial expressions. I tried to describe Scott as best as possible forgetting his name completely. I asked if the manager was in because he'd sold me a Saint Victor two days ago and I wanted to pay the layaway off. I was greeted by a rude salesperson named Jeff. I placed the item on Layaway for 2 days and came back to pay it off. He showed me a few options in which I chose the Springfield Saint Victor. I told him I was in the market for an AR10 chamber in. Scott the manager came over and asked if I needed any assistance. He is a credit to this business and they need more staff like him! Thank you Tony K for making our day so special. We had the most fabulous hour on the range- Tony was professional, informative and fun. Then we approached the counter to pay for range time and were informed (none too pleasantly) that since we were first time shooters- we could not shoot today as there were no instructors in store - disappointment is not the word!! We browsed in the shop and selected a tee-shirt and approached a different counter to pay- it was here we were served by Tony K- he asked if we had been on the range and I explained no instructors were available- he very kindly volunteered to take us onto the range. We signed all the necessary forms and waivers, provided photo ID and watched a very informative 8 minute safety video. The office phoned CSA to check tourists could shoot and we were told to go straight down. We were visiting from Ireland and found a flyer for colonial shooting academy (CSA) in the tourist information office. And a great place for anyone wanting to take some classes anywhere from "women's only basic intro to handguns" to advanced tactical shooting on the move behind barrier classes. I bet it would be staff intensive to separate somehow, but would be a plus for sure if there were handgun only times or separate ranges. Very hard to shoot well with a precision slow fire handgun when the lane next to you opens up with a rapid fire AR15 or a shotgun. My one wish is that there could be a way to make some separation of shooting types. With a wide range of rentals available it offers a nice place to try out a gun of interest. With walk in and monthly membership options pretty much can meet the needs from beginner to occasional to expert shooters. But they respond quickly to phone requests. I wish the online scheduling app was easier to use. But ask enough questions and you will get answers. Most of the range and retail staff obviously are shooting hobbyists and knowledge varies a lot. Some limited availability of sessions allowing holster draw shooting for those that have training for that. Introductory classes, some women only, to basic and advanced shooting sessions and "dynamic" shooting groups. They also offer a wide variety of classes open to the public. This range staffs each shooting area with a safety officer and does a good job of keeping the focus on everyone's safety. A really diverse mix of customers means that some professional or skilled shooters along with couples and friends shooting for fun. Target lighting is flexible, but shooting lane lighting is minimal for shooting position. Lightning is good, but not great for precision shooting.
